Welcome to Akonye Kena
Akonye Kena means I will help myself in Acholi, a tribal language of northern Uganda. It is an initiative to support youth and young adults in their quest for independence by offering them a venue to sell their crafts and giving them the opportunity to help themselves.
Through our partnership with the Kennair Educational Foundation, your purchase from, or donation to, Akonye Kena provides funds for training youth and young adults in Uganda in a sellable skill. In addition, all profits are donated to the Foundation to support youth education and self-sufficiency projects in East Africa.
