We have finished our trade shows for the year. Thank you to EVERYONE who has made this the best year ever for Akonye Kena. We are SOLD OUT of paper beads. We expect to receive our BRAND NEW designs and colors in early January. We are also working on diversifying our product lines in order to serve you better. We have really started to focus on Fabric - and a new range of seasonal hand-dyed fabrics should be ready for launch by mid-January.
Akonye Kena means I will help myself in Acholi, a tribal language of northern Uganda. We work with youth and young adult self-sufficiency projects in Uganda, helping people in their quest for independence and self-reliance through training and production of tangible goods which can be sold locally and purchased by Akonye Kena at fair market value, for sale internationally.
Your support of Akonye Kena helps to provide funding for further project development in Uganda, including equipment, training and expansion into new communities and the development of additional projects.
